Job Description

The Warehouse Team Member at Australian Defence Apparel Pty Ltd plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution centre. This position involves various responsibilities aimed at supporting the overall supply chain process and maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity. ADA is looking for someone to fill a Temporary Full-Time contract located in Hume ACT commencing early August until late November 2026. This position requires Monday to Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, checking, and storing incoming goods accurately to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Picking and packing orders with attention to detail to meet customer specifications.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conducting regular stock counts and assisting in inventory management to prevent discrepancies.
  • Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently (if certified).
  • Collaborating with team members to optimise workflow processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assisting in loading and unloading delivery vehicles as required.

The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively within a team, demonstrate strong communication skills, and contribute positively to the workplace culture at Australian Defence Apparel Pty Ltd. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential for this role.

Desired Skills and Experience

Required skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and orders.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
  • Good physical fitness and stamina for manual handling tasks.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for inventory management and order processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required experiences

  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or software applications.
  • Proven track record of meeting productivity targets and deadlines.
  • Experience in performing stock takes and managing stock levels effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.
